Ductless Heat Pump Rebate - $1,500
LEC will pay you $1,500 if your home is eligible for the program and you install a qualifying system from an installer on our
Certified Contractor
List.
At LEC, one of our primary goals is to provide members like you with great service and affordable electricity. We are continually looking for opportunities to help you lower your electric bill and improve the quality of your home.
We're helping qualified co-op members who have permanently installed zonal electric resistance heat (i.e. baseboard, ceiling cable, or wall heaters) upgrade to a ductless heat pump system that provides both heating and cooling. With a ductless heat pump system, you could save 25% to 40% on your electric bill, depending on the characteristics of your home. You can learn more about ductless heat pumps at
www.goingductless.com
and reviewing the Informational
Flyer.
Here's how to qualify for the rebate:
-
Complete the
Homeowner Participation Form in its entirety and return the form to LEC to verify you qualify for the program. All systems must be
pre-approved.
-
After application is
pre-approved, purchase a qualifying model from a contractor on our Certified Contractor List.
-
Install the system in our service territory.
-
Have your contractor complete a
Contractor Invoice Form and submit it to
LEC.
-
LEC may come and inspect the completed installation.
-
Once final approval is made, your rebate check, made out according to the participation form, will be mailed within four weeks.
Your new ductless heat pump may also be eligible for a Montana residential energy tax credit. In addition, some ductless systems qualify for a federal tax credit of up to 30% of the total installed cost capped at $1,500 (check with your HVAC contractor or tax consultant for specific requirements and eligibility).
